Ten Easy Ways to Save Money on Food

Posted on September 14th, 2009 by Shari Storm |

  1. Stop going out to eat five times a week.
  2. Dine out only at inexpensive places – and only once per week
  3. Cut coupons before going to grocery store
  4. Used said coupons once you are there
  5. Eat before you go shopping, so you don’t buy every Twinkie and bag of Doritos in sight
  6. Use cash at the grocery store – bring a calculator!
  7. Shop only on the parameters of a store – everything on the outside – the produce, milk, cheese and meats – are actually the least expensive, and most healthy things in the store. It’s the processed, bagged and sorted food that adds up.
  8. Avoid convenience stores – if you can pump gas outside, the food inside is more expensive
  9. Learn to cook
  10. Eat what you cook; especially the left overs
